Eddie Alvarez reveals one of his biggest regrets from Conor McGregor title fight at UFC 205

Eddie Alvarez wishes him to approach a Prime Conor McGregor otherwise at UFC 205.

The lightweight Title Rein of the former UFC champion lasted not long after switching off Rafael Dos Anjos in the summer of 2016.

Four months away from his title profit in July, Philadelphia's Eddie Alvarez defended his world title in a superfight against featherweight champion Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 205. The event marked the debut of New York City and Madison Square Garden.

McGregor followed his 13-second Ko by Jose Aldo and revenge on Nate Diaz with a Masterclass Striking version above Alvarez. McGregor hit Alvarez in two rounds to become the first simultaneous double champion in the UFC history.

Alvarez has not succeeded in putting together a winning series since he lost McGregor at MSG.

Eddie Alvarez says he should have trained more boxing for Conor McGregor Super-Fight

Alvarez, one of the most violent hunters in combat sports, was taken from his element against McGregor.

Alvarez has had incredible performances that boxes its opponents on on-board buildings, such as his first round knockout by Rafael Dos Anjos to win the title or breathtaking finish by Justin Gaethje a year after the loss of McGregor.

Almost ten years later, Alvarez reflects on his title loss to McGregor and how things could have done differently.

“I would probably have brought more in the run -up, more boxing,” said Alvarez on the Bohnfire.

“Because I did a lot of boxing for the fight of Justin Gaethje. I have a lot of boxing, and it was one of my best versions when I did a lot of boxing with only pro -boxers.

“I just got a bit out of the MMA sports school and just went to Philly and got with professional boxers, and my eyes were the best. My reactions were the best. My timing, my punch volume, everything got better.

“So probably it would have packed more in the preparation and baked less in the fight. My eyes, my distance would have been sharper boxing, but the idea was never to box.

“I feel that I was just caught in the fight early and I got stupid. What I did in the fight was nothing [like] What we did in the run -up and in the preparation. “

Eddie Alvarez says that Prime Conor McGregor was a 'really scary guy'

McGregor's flawless second round TKO from Alvarez was perhaps the best performance of his career. Not only that, it is considered one of the best versions in the UFC title fighting history.

Once the #2 pound-for-pound hunter on the planet, Alvarez says that his former enemy was a scary person who left a small margin for mistakes.

“Conor in his Prime was a really scary guy,” said Alvarez about McGregor.

“When he was in the gym, he didn't care about other things, and he was just fixed on fighting and wanted to beat the best man. He is a scary person. He is one of the best hunters in the world.

“It's a small margin for mistakes when boys are at the top of the game.”
