Eddie Howe breaks silence on Isak after pre-season snub amid Liverpool links

Newcastle -Baas Eddie Howe says that he expects Alexander Isak to stay in the club despite strong interest from Liverpool.

The Premier League champions are ready to break the British transfer record to sign Isak, despite the fact that he already spends £ 116 million to Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Isak costs £ 125 million and the Reds will move if they receive an encouragement from Newcastle.

The Swedish striker was absent with the Magpies that Xi and Bench started when they members a 4-0 defeat by Celtic.

Manager Howe, however, expects the 26-year-old to stay in Tyneside this summer.

Explaining the absence of Isak, said Howe: “It was my decision. He traveled with us back to Glasgow, but I decided to send him home because of the speculation around him.

“The last thing he wanted is to look at the position, that was not fair for him.

“But I am convinced that he will be a Newcastle player, the end of the window.”

Liverpool is determined to add a striker to their ranks, because they have secured their 20th title and although Isak represents the ideal choice, it is very bad that the club's modus of the club has different goals when they are needed.

The Reds of Arne Slot make an attempt to sign Hugo Eintracht Frankfurt, who is reportedly enthusiastic about moving to Anfield.

Newcastle United had recently rejected an £ 70 million offer for the French Under-21 International, because the £ 16 million was short of his release clause.

Liverpool was strengthened this summer with the signing sessions of Leverkusen Duo Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong, as well as Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.

In addition to income, the club also works on outogings, in which Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez attracts interest from Bayern Munich and Napoli respectively.
