The red -hot striker is strongly connected to a move to the emirates, while Mikel Arteta seems to strengthen his attack this summer
Newcastle -Baas Eddie Howe has admitted that he had admitted his frustration that he was repeatedly advertised his star players as transfer goals for Arsenal while the clubs are preparing to perform it for second place in the Premier League. The Magpies will lie to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and lie two points behind the Gunners and have a fourth victory over the men of Mikel Arteta this season – they defeated them home and away in the semi -finals of the Carabao Cup – they would leave in pole position behind champion Liverpool.
They will do this when they have seen a series of experts, suggest that Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes can take a step further by becoming a member of the North London Club, a view that ranks on Tyneside. Isak in particular is strongly connected to the Gunners, who are desperate to add more firepower to the team.
Howe said: “It's a frustration because I don't see why our players are linked here and everywhere with other clubs.
“I would like to think that the players are happy here. I would like to think again that they see us grow and develop into a team that can hopefully compete at the top of the division.
“We have no divine right to do that, but I think we're going in the right direction, so yes, it's a source of frustration. But I really don't let it absorb.”
Newcastle might have gained a reputation as a selling club under previous owner Mike Ashley, but the financial influence of the current regime has changed the image in St James' park and the astute investments outside the field helped them to end their 70-year-old inland trophy drought and compete for Champions League-qualification.
The expenditure restrictions have delayed the project and Newcastle has not made a major signature in the last three files – but that will probably change this summer.
Head coach Howe said: “Regular success, consistent success, all these things help you in the journey you can show you to everyone that the club's ambition is. There is no doubt that the club's ambition is.
“As we have often said, the ability to compete financially in recent years is impeded by PSR. But those issues are not for the coming window, so I see no reason why we cannot strengthen, do not weaken.”
Wages can be another matter, although Howe, who is insisting on attracting players to the northeast instead of London, has not been a problem, revealed that the perception of a soft salary limit is not necessarily accurate.
He said: “It depends on the individual and if the person is worthy to participate, I think you should consider it and may have to implement it.
“But you must be aware that every decision you make has a consequence, so of course you should think carefully.”
