Eddie Howe’s assistant delivers health update on Newcastle manager

Jason Tindall dealt with the issue of the health of Eddie Howe, because the Newcastle manager missed the match against Manchester United who had been taken to the hospital on Friday

Newcastle United Assistant -Baas Jason Tindall says that he will return 'certainly' manager Eddie Howe to the Dugout shortly after he was brought to the hospital on Friday evening. Howe misses the Premier League collision of his party with Manchester United on Sunday, leaving Tindall the leadership.

The magpies confirmed that their boss was aware and talked to family in an update on Saturday, but Tindall says that he had no input in the team preparation for Sunday's game.

Tindall said to Sky Sports: “He was brought to the hospital on Friday evening, so everyone wishes him the best and I am sure he will soon be with us again.”

On the subject of Howe's involvement in team selection, he added: “I think when you are sick all week, it is very difficult to have the type of input that I am sure would have to have, but the way we work, we know the expectations, we have a fantastic group of players, and they will know the requirements that the manager will be.

Newcastle is looking for a victory that would take them to fourth place in the Premier League table on Sunday, with Chelsea's Champions League-Hoop suffered a blow after they could only pull 2-2 at home to Ipswich.

Tindall added: “We had a good week, a really positive result away from Leicester. We know our expectations and our goals, and what we want to try to achieve, and every match is so important, especially if you come to the 'money' end of the season as they say, only eight competitions, so it is important that we deliver an performance.”

Newcastle -midfielder Joelinton admitted that his side would miss the influence of Howe and tell Sky Sports: “It is a big miss for us. We missed him during the week and we hope he will get better soon. We wish him the best and hope it is not serious.

“We know the importance of this game. I expect a difficult game against every opposition in the Premier League and we know the quality of the Manchester United team. We have to show our quality and strength and hope we get three points.”
