Goalkeeper Edererson of Manchester City has opened himself on the bizarre matchday ritual that he was sworn in England since eight years ago.
Ederson came to City from Benfica in 2017 and became an important player in an era of Dominance for the men of Pep Guardiola.
But is there a secret behind his success?
Well, the Brazilian shot stopper has now revealed the only thing that he never changes for a game – his underwear!
With former city goalkeeper Shay given for football focus, Ederson said: 'I only have one superstition. Play each game in the same boxer shorts. '
Given seemed a bit surprised when he asked, “What, the same boxer shorts for the entire season?”
“No, the same boxers for eight years,” Edererson corrected him.
“Really not,” answered. He added: “They must … not be in good condition!” While he shared a smile with Ederson.
It can be an unusual superstition, but it seems to have worked for Edererson.
In his eight years in City he won six Premier League titles, four Carabao Cups, two FA Cups and the Champions League.
City has struggled in the competition this season, but are still in the race for silverware after reaching the semi -final of the FA Cup.
They will also compete this summer in the newly expanded club World Cup.
