Fiorentina star Robin Gosens has opened at the frightening moment that his teammate Edoardo Bove collapsed after a cardiac arrest during a competition in Italy.
Bove, 22, was taken to the hospital in December after he fell on the floor in the 16th minute of a Serie A match, which was then abandoned.
Players and employees had formed a wall around Bove while medical staff took care of him. Reports in Italy claim that a defibrillator was used to restart the heart of Bove before the football player was brought to the intensive care of the Careggi Hospital in Florence.
Gosens is now open of the moving incident and admitted that he “looked into the eyes of a dead person” while forming a wall around the midfielder.
How are his own podcast, how are you? Gosens said via Bild: 'I felt that I was actually looking in the eyes of a dead person. There was little life in them. It was probably the worst thing I've ever seen. '
He further explained how important physical and mental well -being is for him, hoping that his podcast can increase consciousness for those who suffer from health problems.
'It shows how vulnerable our world can be. I still feel that psychological problems are somehow a taboo subject that I cannot understand. '
The Italian midfielder, who is on loan from Roma, recovers well from a heart surgery after leaving intensive care and was visited on the training area on December 14 in the training ground.
Bove's last performance came during the 3-0 victory of Fiorentina over Inter in February, when he made a 17-minute cameo.
Bove, however, has not been seen in front of the club since it is equipped with an implantable cardioverter deefibrillator (ICD), because the Serie Rules forbid people who play one of them.
In an interview with Vanity Fair about the incident, Bove said: 'I remember very little, only that I was on the field and my head started to turn, as when you got out of bed too quickly, I felt a feeling of exhaustion … And that was it.
“I don't remember that I fell. I woke up in the hospital and touched my legs because I thought something had happened to my knee, an accident.
'In the beginning it was not as difficult for me as for my loved ones: I did not even understand the seriousness of the situation; I thought I just fainted. '
Images emerged in December of Bove and a tear shift made back to the Fiorentina training field while he was beaten and welcomed by his teammates, who sat down for a team meeting.
Various applause broke out even after the star has taken a seat in the training field.
With Bove's long -term future in Italy, doubts doubts because of the rules of Serie A for players equipped with Defibrillators, the star can move this summer in an attempt to breathe new life into his career.
