Liverpool is now only one step away from completing the signing of Hugo Ekitike after throwing away the framework of a deal for the wanted Eintracht Frankfurt Striker
Liverpool connects a deal that Hugo Ekitike will see to Anfield after further conversations with Eintracht Frankfurt, with the circumference of an agreement for the Frenchman who is now present.
The Reds focused their attention on Ekitike, 23, earlier this week after seeing an approach for Alexander Isak from Newcastle. And with the Magpies now from the race for Ekitike, Liverpool has essentially been left with a clear run at one of the most exciting young players in the Bundesliga.
Earlier this week it appeared that Liverpool had been in contact with Frankfurt to start negotiations about their star stiker.
And with personal conditions that are already present for a six-year-old deal, the clubs have now thrown away the framework of a blockbuster deal.
According to athletics, Frankfurt could yield record transfer costs that amounted to the amount of € 95 million (£ 82.3 million) that they banked when Randal Kolo Muani joined Paris Saint-Germain if all the add-ons were met.
That would be another important edition for Liverpool, which hit the British transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz van Bayer Leverkusen for £ 116 million earlier this summer.
The newly beaten Premier League champions had made the addition of a new No. 9 a priority with Darwin Nunez who would probably leave Anfield this summer after a bad individual season.
And although the interest in Isak is supposed to stay, they also entered the summer with Ekitike after the French International registered 22 goals and 12 assists in the 2024-25 campaign in the Bundesliga.

From Liverpool and Frankfurt, they are expected to resume lectures on Sunday to complete a deal, with the report that notes that there is still some work to be done before an agreement is fully signed between the clubs.
As noted, personal conditions are not a problem and Ekitike would like to move to Anfield and become a member of the Premier League champions.
If Ekitike all improved well, Ekitike will be the third player to exchange the Bundesliga for Anfield this summer after Wirtz and his former Bayer Leverkusen teammate, Jeremie Frimpong. Milos Kerkez has also joined the Reds from Bournemouth with further additions that have probably given interest in Nunez and Luis Diaz, who is understood that they are enthusiastic about a transfer in the midst of Bayern Munich.
