Matildas star Ellie Carpenter made the knot with former Lyon teammate Danielle Van de Donk last month in France, but the couple are now reportedly rivals on the Footy Pitch.
Carpenter, 25, is about to join her teammate Sam Kerr in Australia near Chelsea and will leave Lyon during the low season after having spent five years in the club, according to Channel 7.
It also comes when her new wife, Van de Donk, who has been in the Footy Club since 2021, also moves to the meadows for the following season.
The former midfielder of Arsenal joins the London City Lionesses, which means that the reported move from Carpenter to the Blues Go to Go to Light, the couple will follow in the Super League of the Women's Super League next season.
The London City Lionesses were crowned last season as victors of the Women's Championship and earned a place in the WSL for the 2025-26 season.
In the meantime, Carpenter has made 126 performances for Lyon and has a year in her current deal with the French outfit.
However, the right back is expected to be a three -year contract with the West London Club on paper.
It means that she will reunite herself with former Lyon boss Sonia Bompastor for the new season, where the couple the Women's Champions League wins together in the Premiere Ligue Club in 2022.
Timmerman and Van de Donk were supposed to have met when the Dutch star, 33, joined the French outfit in 2021.
The couple went public in 2023 and announced their involvement on New Year's Day in 2024.
Carpenter and Van de Donk recorded the knot in a beautiful ceremony in the Chateau Hermitage de Combas in the Serbian region in South France.
The pair published various photos of the day on Instagram, with tiler who write: 'I choose you. I'll always choose you. '
Both football players stunned in beautiful white dresses while they were on the lawn of a luxurious French mansion.
Van de Donk's dress was made by Bridal Gown Brand Pronovias, while Carpenter's dress was made by Collingwood-based adapted clothing maker Mia Ateliers.
She called it 'the dress of her dreams'.
“The setting is so lush and green, it's beautiful,” Carpenter told Vogue.
'It has this unique, elegant atmosphere but still feels grounded in love and who we are like a few. Intimate, natural and full heart. '
Van de Donk is now mentioned in the Dutch team for the ladies -this summer, which is starting today.
The Netherlands also has a set of tough luminaires ahead. They are going against Wales for the first time on July 5 in Lucerne, Switzerland, before they travel to Zurich to play England. Their last group stage match will be against France in Basel on July 13.
Just like Van de Donk, the euros have arranged a deal to become a member of London City, after three years in Lyon.
“It's just such a nice environment to be in, the club really appeals to me, it reminds me of a small family, and I want to be part of it,” said Van de Donk.
