Harvey Elliott openly spoke about the big decision that waited for him in the summer transfer window after scoring and assisting with the 3-2 defeat of Liverpool by Brighton on Monday
Harvey Elliott has hinted that he might have to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window to protect FIRST team of football more regularly next season. Elliott has won the Premier League title with the Reds this season, but was left frustrated by his position in the pecking order under Arne Slot.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been at Liverpool for six years now and would like to start. That has not happened since the acquisition of Jurgen Klopp, with Monday only his second start of the Premier League season against Brighton.
Elliott responded well, opened the score and offered the assist for the goal of Dominik Szoboszlai, and he felt encouraged in his interview after the game after the 3-2 defeat. Wolves have been associated with a movement for Elliott – and it seems that he could be convinced to leave the champions.
“You don't try to be dragged too much through the parties, we worked very hard on the season,” he told Sky Sports. “Some guys like me have not played the season so much and it is about going out and enjoying it. We want to win and enjoy it. We have to take the positives and take it to the last game next week.
“I think I did it this season. It has been difficult with how much I played. I tried as hard as I could and whatever happens, it is about what is best for my career. It's about reflecting and seeing what I can do. I am here and I am concentrating on the latest game.”
Elliott has 15 goals and 20 assists in 146 performances for Liverpool since he came to Fulham as a 16-year-old. He has five goals and three assists in 27 games this season, but was generally used as an impact replacement by Slot.
Elliott spoke with the Liverpool Echo at the end of April and expanded his current situation. 'I hope I can continue [next season]”He said.” This is my team, I am dedicated to them and it is just a situation that always talks a lot, I just have to think about what is best for my future, my career and as much as I want it here.
Did you say! Should Harvey Elliott Liverpool leave this summer, or should he start before the side of Arne Slot? Respond below.
“You never know what's going to happen. If I had it my way, it would be here, I would play every game here and stay here for the rest of my career, but it all depends on managers, the people above and as I said, you don't know what can happen, but as far as I am, I am here, to stay the club.
“Hopefully I am still there to be honest. It's the best place to be, the best club to be with and especially the fans around us at the moment, I don't think there is a better place to play.
“Players go through UPS and Downs, but at the end of the day you have to come out and I think it's in myself to let it happen. So hopefully I can stay here for the rest of my career.”
