Marcus Rashford scored his first two goals for Aston Villa to guide his loan club beyond Preston North End to the semi -final of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon
Unai Emery insists that he simply does not have time to think about whether Aston Villa will turn the loan from Marcus Rashford from Manchester United into a permanent deal as a villa for glory on two fronts.
On Sunday, Rashford scored his first two goals for Villa while they defeated Preston North End with 3-0 to reach the FA Cup semi-final, where they will be confronted with Crystal Palace, and Emery also has a two-legged Champions League quarter at the Horinizon next month.
The International of England has enjoyed a new life of life since he left United on a temporary basis in January after being out of grace under Ruben Amorim, and Villa has an option to make the loan in a permanent £ 40 million movement in the summer.
However, Emery says that the decision can wait, and the Spanish boss shifts his focus instead to the return to Premier League promotion in midweek.
“Not yet,” Emery said when he was asked if a decision about Rashford had been made. “The most important thing is the challenge now and this afternoon, recovering and then preparing for the game against Brighton tomorrow.
“Yet there are many matches to play. If we are in the Champions League, when we are in the Europa League, when we are in the European Conference League or not in Europe or win a trophy, it is completely different.
“A decision about every individual players … It is to get the best of them and the best of us. We don't want to waste time thinking.”
Emery also praised the performance of Rashford about what his 10th performance was for Villa since he was with him in January. “First of all, his dedication to work and quickly adjust is very important. He does it,” he said.
“To feel comfortable at his best level, there is still work to do. Weeks to get it. Today he took a step forward, he felt at ease, gained confidence and scored goals.
“There is still work to do and adjustment to come together, the teammates and themselves. Today I think this was a step forward.
“He came here in the past two months and did not train consistently and did not feel very fit in the first games with us. After playing more and with the national team, it helped him to feel better. Today was the confirmation of his progression with us.”
