England -captain Leah Williamson criticized the 'cheap' and 'emotional' of her team that defended in their opening group phase defeat through France.
The title defense of the European Championship of the Lionesses stepped on the wrong foot when the 'Group of Death' caused its first blow to their summer shopes.
Lauren James came close to the opening moments and Alessia Russo had a goal from VAR for an offside by Beth Mead in the structure.
Then England remained behind to restore their early chances while France brought them to the sword and scored twice in succession by Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Sandy Baltimore.
A late goal from Keira Walsh – the first and only shot of England on the night on goal – led to a late revival, but it turned out to be too little too late for the lion ribbons to destroy the shortage.
Williamson said: 'I am disappointed that there was a cheap kind of emotional defense in the first half. If you take waves of attack like that, you leave yourself open to things like that.
'I am just frustrated because I think the football we played at the end and the game plan could have worked. We just did not perform it exceptionally well.
'I acknowledge that the middle of the game is when we went a little flat and I think there were some decisions that if they had gone on our way, the momentum of the game would have really changed.
'Sarina kept [the team talk] Short but we knew what to do to do better.
'It doesn't look great from the point of view of the table, but it was two heavyweights that went against each other and today we were short. There is still every chance. The goal does not change. '
Williamson insisted that the Lionesses will have a 'new game plan' when they will record winners of the Netherlands by 2017 on Wednesday evening.
“We lost the game (through) poor defensive one-V-One,” added the center-back. “We learned from those errors in honesty. Not good enough with the ball, we were not good enough. We got better and benefited from it, but in the end not enough.
'If you lose it and you are so expansive, it is difficult. We adhere to higher standards in our individual battles.
'Everyone takes responsible for themselves and we will take a look. Tomorrow we have a new game plan. Different places available and other opposition. '
Sarina Wiegman, whose flawless euro record was ended with the defeat, said her team “created our own problems.”
“I think we started well, we could have created a chance in the first minute, then we scored a goal,” she said.
'Unfortunately it is not allowed. We have created our own problems by always playing short passes.
“We were also a bit sloppy. So we also lost those balls at those moments. It was difficult for us to get out of that situation.
'Of course we are frustrated. We had three very good weeks and we trained very well, but that is never a guarantee to win the game. We just didn't get it right at those moments. '
