Thomas Tuchel will mention his first team as an English head coach on 13 March – and there can be some new names on the list.
Lee Carsley gave an debut to eight players during his six games in Interim -Lading after taking over Gareth Southgate and it would be no surprise to see more new faces against Albania and Latvia in 2026 World Cup qualifications this month.
Here we look at 11 of the players who might earn their first English cap under Tuchel and their reasons to be hopeful … say if you agree with our polls!
James Trafford
Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford has not admitted a championship goal since Christmas and became the first goalkeeper in second history to keep 12 consecutive clean sheets. Because he last admitted a competition goal, Trafford has made 23 saves, including two penalties, and has prevented more than 10 expected goals.
Trafford is no stranger to the arrangement of England who has been a hero of the UEFA U21 championship team 2023-Hij is now one of the only three of the starting XI against Spain in that final of 2023 to win a senior cap, together with James Garner and Max Aarons.
Djed Spence
The first Premier League goal from Djed Spence against Ipswich on 22 February was long, two and a half years after he joined Spurs in July 2022.
Spence – who has six caps for England U21 – could spy a potential opening on the right -back for England with Kieran Trippier withdrew from the international service and Kyle Walker will soon be 35. With 10 of his 13 starts for traces on the left, his versatility would also be a bonus for Tuchel.
Archie Gray
Archie Gray arrived in the Premier League last summer with a reputation as one of the brightest prospects in England. But Spurs' injury problems have led him to be used mainly in the middle of the Middleback this season – 80 percent of his minutes came in that position. He is the only player who is currently 18 years or younger to play for more than 1,000 minutes this season in the Premier League.
Gray becomes 19 a week before the first match of Tuchel, Gray represents England at every level since U15 and is certainly a senior international waiting. His adulthood and versatility can lead to a first full call-up at the earliest chance.
Then Burn
The oldest player in this XI and the only one without experience for England at every level, the 32-year-old than Burn is an external bet for an international cap. But with left -feet English center -backs little and far in between and the air floor unparalleled in the Premier League this season – even by Virgil van Dijk – can worry Burn Boxes for the incoming English boss.
The last player who made their debut in England 32 years or older was Kevin Davies in 2010, during a period when an overseas manager in Fabio Capello was choosing players, regardless of age or club status. If Tuchel assumes a similar policy, Burn can still receive his first call-up.
Myles Lewis-Skelly
Arsenal's 18-year-old gem Myles Lewis-Skelly has had a breakout season that he will never forget and should certainly be in the mind of Tuchel as a potential left back, undoubtedly the problem position of England in recent years.
No recognized left back has started more than two consecutive games for England since Luke Shaw on the World Cup 2022, but Lewis-Skelly, together with Lewis Hall in Newcastle, it seems that they can solve that headache for Tuchel. If he made his debut in England in March, Lewis-Skelly would be from his country of his country behind Micah Richards this century, who was also 18 when he appeared on stage in 2006.
Elliot Anderson
Elliot Anderson has been a diligent presence in the surprise of Nottingham Forest for a place in the Champions League and will keep an eye on a senior call-up that committed his international loyalty to England at the start of this season. Anderson is one of a handful of players to combine high possession (5.5 or more per 90) with high accents in the opposition box (2.5 or more per 90) in the Premier League this season and can be a useful box-to-box option in the midfield of Tuchel.
Anderson previously played at youth level for Scotland and was called at Senior level in August 2023 before he withdrew due to an injury. Now the midfielder born in Whitley Bay has four caps for England U21 and will be happy to add a senior cap soon.
Jobe Bellingham
Although he is a teenager, Jobe Bellingham is indispensable this season in the promotion of Sunderland, and he is not immersed in one of his 31 championship star. Comparisons with his big brother Jude are inevitable, and, after he made his 100th league match last Friday, Jowe has more goals and more completed competitions than Jude in the same phase of their career.
If Jowe won his first cap besides Jude, they would only be the third pair of brothers to play for England together since the beginning of the 20th century after the brothers Charlton and Neville. In the meantime, no outfield player of the championship player has been covered by England since Wilfried Zaha in November 2012.
Marcus Edwards
Marcus Edwards arrived on Burnley on the Deadline day to add some X-factor to the promotion of the Clarets. He scored on his debut in the FA Cup against Southampton and again in his first start against Sheffield on Wednesday, and continued his habit of regularly clocking goals and assists, as was the case during his successful spell in Portugal.
Edwards has a fantastic record for England at youth level, wins nearly 50 caps in the age groups and is part of the team won the UEFA U19 championship 2017 alongside Aaron Ramsdale, Mason Mount and Reece James. It has been more than six years since the most recent youth cap in Edwards, but after only 26, time is still on his side.
Omari Hutchinson
Chelsea was one of the best urgent teams that were around during the enchantment of Tuchel in West London, who ranked second in the Premier League for PPDA in his only full season that was in charge in 2022-23. Omari Hutchinson – part of Chelsea's youth system, when New England's boss was on Stamford Bridge – this season was the top person of the Premier League and Tuchel may see him as a good fit. Hutchinson has covered more distance this season to close opponents than any other player.
Hutchinson has already played twice for Jamaica at senior level twice and is perhaps an England would like to tie up – he has returned to the three lion arrangement this season and earned his first two caps at the U21 level.
Keane Lewis-Potter
Versatility is always considered a big bonus during international tournaments, and Keane Lewis-Potter from Brentford must be one of the most versatile players in the Premier League. Last season he mainly played for the bees as a left -wing player, he played as a left back this season and impressed, even though he is with the right range. He has also played quite a bit on the right wing since he came to Hull at Brentford in 2022.
The only England experience from Lewis -Potter came in the form of four caps for the U21s in 2022 -he scored in his only start against Kosovo in June 2022, inside the left wing to go home Harvey Elliott's Cross.
Liam Delap
Despite the struggles of Ipswich this season, Liam Delap has earned praising reviews in attack and one of the youngest players ever to achieve double digits for Premier League goals for a team that was promoted the season before. Each of the other five English players on the list below received Senior International Recognition, and Delap will certainly follow if he continues his goals at the highest level.
While his father Rory earned 11 caps for Republic of Ireland during his match days, Liam, born in Winchester, scored goals for England at every youth level and looks an honest gamble to become the successor to Harry Kane as No. 9 in the Senior Team.
