Enzo Maresca feeling no added pressure ahead of crucial three days for Chelsea

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca said he felt no extra pressure before a decisive three days in which his players will fight to seal their place in the top five of the Premier League, before he was confronted with real betis in the UEFA Conference League final.

Five clubs will fight for three available Champions League slots on the last day of the English Top-Fight season, with the fifth placed Chelsea that Fulham visited in the seventh visits, which are only a point of them.

Chelsea will then fly to Poland for the final of Wednesday Conference League.

“I felt busy since I came to the club, because this is a club where you have to win games,” Maresca told reporters on Friday.

Chelsea still has the chance to finish in the top three, with the third placed Manchester City only two points above them. But a loss or draw can force them from the top five of the competition.

“It probably also shows how difficult the Premier League is, so many involved teams. Those who have been consistent are Liverpool, this is why they won … The rest had up and down in the season,” said Maresca.

“We are very lucky in this aspect, because when we win, we do our work. We don't have to pay attention to the other results.”

The Maresca team could be stimulated by the return of Forward's Christopher Nunku and Marc Guiu van Long injuries, with both available for selection.

Maresca also destroyed rumors about the potential departure of Enzo Fernandez and answered “yes” when he was asked if the Argentinian midfielder would stay in Chelsea next season.

“He is one of our captains … This season has been very good and he can be even better next season, from the first day,” said Maresca.

But Maresca said that he would have to make changes before the final of Wednesday's conference, because there was not enough time to recover after Sunday's game.

The manager was worried that not enough attention was paid to the well -being of players, with the emphasis on a packaged calendar that could continue until July with Chelsea who played in the club World Cup from next month.

“If (some players) get tired, they are not going to play … I don't think there is (much) attention about the well -being of players. Otherwise it is not normal, the amount of games they play,” he said.
