Multiple Premier League football stars, including Bruno Fernandes, Jamie Vardy and Rodri, fans laughed on social media for their hilarious attempts to express the names of several cities in Australia.
But one star seems to have hit the nail on the head.
It is because more Premier League teams have ventured in recent years, with the English top division the popularity of the England growing drastically in Aussie -football fans.
Channel 9 reporter Tom Morris reported on Wednesday that League one -side Wrexham is now due in July Tour Australia. The report suggests that they could play Melbourne's victory before they also played matches in Perth, Sydney and Auckland.
And during a video clip published on the X account of Optus Sport, it seems that some Premier League stars may have to refresh something with their knowledge of Aussie geography.
Wolves -goalkeeper Jose Sa opens the clip and tries to pronounce the name of the suburb of New South Wales, Coogee.
“I have to say this?” He starts. Before they send members of the film team to Hysterics and express the name 'Koo-Gy' of the suburb.
Various other stars also appear in the clip, including Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund who is being asked to pronounce the NSW Town Mudgee.
Jamie Vardy, although seemed to get his statements spot-on.
“So they are actually city names,” said the Leicester City star to the camera while he scratched his chin.
He was asked to pronounce Echuca and nailed the statement.
In the meantime, various players seemed to be struggling with the phrasing of one Aussie city. James Maddison, Jorginho and Declan Rice all took a chance to say the name 'Leichardt', but they were corrected by one Australian star.
But Massimo Luongo, who plays for Ipswich, stepped up to deliver the right spelling from the suburb of Southeast Sydney. “Leichardt,” he said. “That's my city.”
Newcastle and Tottenham landed under the end of the 2023-24 season, but it still has to be confirmed which teams can go to Australia during the low season in 2025.
However, reports from the Australian will make a lot of Aussie -football fans enthusiastic, with Liverpool being recommended later this winter as a potential tourist.
The Premier League giants, who are clearly at the top of the competition table and are ready to claim their second title in five years, are expected to fly to Asia in the low season to hire AC Milan in a series of matches in Hong Kong, China and Japan in July.
There is a chance that the Reds can also go to Melbourne as part of that trip.
The Australian adds that they can be a potential opponent for the A-League All-Stars, in a blockbuster at a certain moment in the summer in the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The outlet adds that the Australian professional competitions and the Victorian government have worked together with several European clubs to come to Melbourne – but the date of the Champions League final, on 31 May a bottleneck proved.
