Manchester City Star Erling Haaland has made a relevant admission to the season of his team.
After winning the Premier League title four years in a row, City has described what Haaland has described as a 'catastrophic' campaign this time.
The side of Pep Guardiola is currently in fourth place in the competition – 18 points drift from champions Liverpool.
City also failed to secure Glory in the Champions League and the Carabao Cup, although they still have a chance to win silverware in the form of the FA Cup while they take Crystal Palace on Saturday.
There have been countless factors behind the slump of the city, including injuries and disappointing versions.
However, a reason that Haaland has referred can be in particular concerned city fans.
Haaland indicated that a lack of hunger is one of the reasons that the city lags behind.
The striker wanted to emphasize that he feels that his own versions have not been of the required standard.
As reported by ESPN, Haaland said: 'You can find apologies in all this – injuries, many injuries and in bad times – but in the end we did not perform well enough. We have not been hungry in us. I have not been good enough, I did not help the team enough. '
Haaland added that City must find the hunger needed to perform better next season.
He said: 'The club has set standards and the bar is so high, which means that this season is a catastrophic season – that says it all. Next season we have to find something in our stomach again to attack the season. '
After scoring 52 goals in all competitions during his first season in City, Haaland found the net 38 times last campaign. So far he has scored 30 times this season.
City recently seemed to have become a corner with five consecutive victories in all competitions, but last weekend they were held to a scoreless draw to already related Southampton.
The Guardiola team will conclude their competition campaign with competitions at home to Bournemouth and road to Fulham.
City has lost nine times this season in the competition, something that should drastically improve the next campaign if they have to challenge the title.
They will also participate in the World Cup club this summer and will compete against Juventus, Wydad and Al-Aine in the group phase.
