Erling Haaland: Man City striker to seek specialist consultation after injury to left ankle in FA Cup quarter-final

Erling Haaland will have to see a specialist after the male City's striker sustained an ankle injury in the FA Cup victory on Sunday at Bournemouth.

The attacker was forced with injury in Sunday's 2-1 victory, after he had previously scored the equal goal of the city in the comeback triumph.

Shortly after the Norwegian striker in the city was put on flat terms, the left foot of Haaland was captured under a challenge of midfielder Lewis Cook van Cherries.

He initially went on, but was eventually replaced by Omar Marmoush, who then scored the winner of the city.

A district statement was: “Manchester City FC can confirm that Erling Haaland has sustained an injury on his left ankle.

“Erling underwent first tests in Manchester on Monday morning and will now look for specialist consultations to confirm the full extent of the injury.

“Assessment will be underway to determine a full prognosis. It is expected that there will be fit in time to play a part in the rest of this season, including the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

“Everyone in the club wants a quick recovery.”
