The wages of Ter Stegen are among the highest in the Barcelona team, so his departure would be very useful to register new signing sessions that are made between now and the end of the summer – this includes Joan Garcia, who will be the starting goalkeeper of the Catalans next season.
Ter Stegen is reluctant to leave Barcelona, even though he can be heard that he will not play next season. However, that does not mean that he will not have any opportunities to secure a starting point elsewhere – and at this stage his best chance will be in Türkiye.
As reported by Sabah Spor (via MD), Galatasaray are ready to move to Ter Stegen once they have closed a deal for Victor Osimhen to permanently sign. The Turkish giants see Barcelona's goalkeeper as the ideal candidate to replace the deceased Fernando Muslera, who recently returned to South America.
Next season is crucial for Ter Stegen. He has never been the starting goalkeeper of Germany for a World Cup, but the tournament of next summer in North America has the gloves – for the time being. But that can change if he doesn't play regularly next season.
Barcelona hopes that this fact will be in the spirit of Ter Stegen and eventually forces him to look for a move before the end of the summer. A move to Galatasaray would enable him to continue to compete at the highest level of European football, so it can be a tempting prospect.
