European giants take interest in Martin Zubimendi successor

Although Real Sociedad has succeeded in retaining Martin Zubimendi in the face of a number of European giants in recent years, if he wants to leave, they will have little excuse to have no plan in mind to succeed him. However, that plan is said to be threatened.

Zubimendi has a release clause of € 60 million, and without a shortage of clubs that are willing to activate it, Arsenal and Real Madrid -look are set to fight it this summer for his affections. The Basque Lynchpin rejected an offer from Liverpool last summer, but there is a feeling that this can be his last season in Txuri Urdin.

The most fiercely tipped to succeed Zubimendi, because the director of their midfield is Jon GorrotXategi. The 23-year-old came through the system in Zubieta and after Stints at Real Sociedad C and B he spent this season on loan in Mirandes, where he went into force. Earlier in the season it was reported that GorrotXategi stood in line to return to Anoeta for a key role next season.

Relo report that GorrotXategi also attracts interest from elsewhere. He has a release clause of € 50 million in his contract, but Porto, who recently received € 60 million for Nico Gonzalez in the same position from Manchester City are interested in him. They have spoken his camp, just like various Premier League parties. The only thing that La Real is adversable is that he will not move to Rivals Athletic Club.

GorrotXategi went into force in Segunda this season and adds a calm presence to the ball for a mirandes that are built on a budget and a challenge for promotion this season. Real Sociedad would hate losing him, but at the same time they would undoubtedly consider a large selection of a relatively unproven prospect in GorrotXategi.
