Brighton -Baas Fabian Hurzeler had admitted that the Republic of Ireland Spits Evan Ferguson just has to play somewhere to rediscover his top form.
The 20-year-old frontman, impeded by a series of popping injuries since he falls apart as a teenager, is linked to movements on Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham during the January transfer window.
Ferguson returned to the training on Wednesday after his last setback and could be included in the Seagulls team for the Premier League trip from Saturday to Nottingham Forest.
Asked if he could leave the club before the deadline of Monday or loan, head coach Hurzeler told a press conference: “I want to continue working with him.
“But as I have always said, it is important to discuss with him what is important for the individual development of the player, because that is the most important thing about the club. We want to improve the development of the players, we want to help them and that is why we need an exchange.
“Then we'll see what it's like for the player [over] The next six months, which makes sense for the club and then we will make a decision together. It will not be an individual decision, always a togetherness.
“I felt in the conversations I had with Evan that he wants to play alone, that is his most important thing, regardless of whether it is here or for another club.”
That was the rise of Ferguson that he had a senior international debut in a friendly against Norway as an 18-year-old in November 2022 and scored his first Ireland goal against Latvia in the following March.
A hat trick in the 3-1 Premier League victory of Brighton against Newcastle in September 2023 Waggelen Set Waggelen, but fitness concern for a large part of the intervening period has seen him struggle to fulfill that early promise.
Hurzeler said: “I think it's hard if you always have small problems, you can't get into your rhythm, that's the most important thing. We have to get him stable on the field, standing consistently on the field, and that's why we try him To help get the right shape to be more resilient.
“He has not forgotten how to score goals, he is still a big danger for every team. He shows it in every session that he has an incredible skill, and that is also our responsibility to help him get this form back where he once was.
“I am sure he will be back, but the most important thing is that he comes into his rhythm and that his body is more resilient.”
