Jordan Pickford took a Penalty Save and Jack Grealiskh sealed his full debut with two assists when Everton Brighton beat 2-0 to get life in Hill Dickinson Stadium to a victory.
Everton was sometimes lucky on Sunday, but goals from Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner saw the David Moyes team working after a disappointing show against Leeds United in their opening Premier League match.
Ndiaye, who scored the last goals in Goodison Park last season, opened suitable Everton's account on their new terrain when he changed Grealish's drilled cross halfway through the first half.
Brighton hit the woodwork twice in the first half and also saw Danny Welbeck and Matt O'Riley express great opportunities, but the seagulls were 2-0 down when Garner shot home in the 52nd minute.
Pickford then stopped a 77th minute Spot-Kick from Welbeck to close a glorious day for the Toffees.

Grealishe enjoyed an exceptional home arch and played a role in both goals. The Lennee of Manchester City has registered two or more assists for the third time in his career in a Premier League match, which previously did this against Liverpool in October 2020 and Leeds United in December 2022.
It is remarkable that Grealish's two assists against Brighton corresponded to the total number that he gave together in his previous two league seasons.
The winger had the most accents in the opposition box (five), most of the passes in the last third (23) and the joint opportunities (three) of each Everton player.
In the meantime, Pickford has now made eight Premier League -Penalty rescuing -the only English keepers with more his David James (13), Rob Green (nine) and Ben Foster (nine).
