Everton among 4 EPL clubs plotting move as Willian considers back to England

Former Premier League title winner Willian is exploring a return to the English top flight, with Everton believed to be among the teams considering a move forward.

The 36-year-old attacking veteran left England last summer after the expiry of his contract with Fulham, penning a deal to join reigning UEFA Conference League champions Olympiacos on a one-year deal.

It was hoped that Willian would strengthen the club's attacking ranks, but his contract was prematurely terminated in December after making just eleven appearances for the club in all competitions.

Willian is now a free agent and appears to have no plans to retire just yet. Four Premier League clubs are said to be considering a move for the winger.

Everton are among the teams considering approaching the ex-Chelsea and Arsenal star with newly appointed Toffees boss David Moyes, hoping to be boosted by new reinforcements in January.

Willian's availability as a free agent – combined with his Premier League experience – makes him an attractive and cost-effective option for clubs at the bottom of the table.

His age also means that Willian probably wouldn't be in a position to receive a huge salary.

The series title winner is believed to be open to a return to England, having previously played and lived in London for his entire Premier League career.

In total, he played 317 games in the Premier League, scoring 47 goals while providing 46 assists.

Willian won the Premier League title with Chelsea in the 2014/15 and 2016/17 seasons, while he also won the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League with the Blues.

Although he made a significant impact at Stamford Bridge, the same could not be said of Willian's time at Arsenal, for whom he struggled.

After returning to Brazil with Corinthians, Willian returned to the Premier League with Fulham, scoring ten goals in 67 games.

He started his career at Corinthians and then played for Shakhtar Donetsk before joining Anzhi Makhachkala.

A move to Chelsea followed in 2013 despite interest from Tottenham.

His short time in Greece was marred by injuries. He failed to score in his few appearances and recorded only one assist.
