Evra claims Nasri admitted Man Utd snub was a mistake after City title win

Patrice Evra claimed that Samir Nasri regretted that he enjoyed Manchester United in 2011 – even though he had just won the Premier League title with Rivals City.

The ex-sizing full-back believes that his fellow Frenchman would have been a “beast” if he had joined him to Old Trafford.

Nasri, 37, spent three years with Arsenal for a controversial move to the north to Manchester City.

He would win two Premier League titles with the club and scored 27 goals in 176 games.

Evra – who played for United between 2006 and 2014 – believes that the heart of Nasri was not moving and he “regretted” in the city.

And he claims that the Frenchman had agreed the conditions with Sir Alex Ferguson and United before he had his head.

Evra said on the SDS podcast: “[Nasri] Coordinated the conditions [with United] And all [in 2011].

“I remember we entered the preseason and I was on vacation.

“I text him and say:” Samir, what time are you coming? We can train together. “

“There was no answer. I saw Alex Ferguson when he said: 'Did you see what your French boy did?

“He said,” He is going to sign for City. “I said,” Not a boss, you are kidding. “

Evra also claimed that Nasri was offered “millions more” by the city.

The attacking midfielder won the Prem in his first season with the club.

Evra continued: “I remember I saw him after they celebrated [winning the league].

“I asked him:” You're happy? Have you made the right choice? '

“He said:” I made a mistake. I should have signed for United. “

“And he had just won the competition! Because he knew what he could have been.

“At Arsenal he was a good player. But I think we could have made a beast at United”.

Nasri stayed with the city until 2017, but injured him to only 14 games in his last two seasons in Eastlands.

He enjoyed spells with Seville, Antalyaspor, West Ham and Andercht before he hung up his boots in 2020.
