Granit Xhaka settled as one of the best midfielders of the Premier League during a seven -year enchantment in Arsenal and could now be on the way back to the top flight of England
Former arsenal captain Granit Xhaka has been given the opportunity to continue his career in the Premier League through Sunderland, amidst the transfer interest in the midfielder from Suduabia.
Xhaka, 32, was a popular figure at the Emirates before he left Arsenal for Bayer Leverkusen in 2023. And after winning the German title with the Bundesliga -outfit 12 months ago, it now seems as if Xhaka is open to another transfer.
The interest in the Switzerland International of Neom SC has been well documented in recent days.
But Sunderland is now in the photo and Xhaka would have offered a three-year contract to increase their bid to stay in the top flight, by Sky Sports Belgium.
The Black Cats, who won the play-offs of the championship in May, also introduced conversations about club-to-club with Leverkusen through their owner, Kyril Louis Dreyfus, about a deal that would cost them a cool € 10 million (£ 8.6 million).
It is still to be seen whether Xhaka prefer a return to England instead of becoming the latest controversial star that goes abroad to Saudi Arabia.
He has left for three years to close the five-year-old deal he had written in the summer of 2023 after he agreed to exchange Arsenal for Leverkusen after a seven-year-old backaster in North London. In total, the midfielder made 297 performances for the Gunners and won two FA cups.
Landing Xhaka would be considered a large coup for Sunderland, which are on the market for quality addictions before they ended an eight -year -old Odyssey of the Premier League.

The black cats have already splashed some serious money this summer to bring in Habib Diarra, Simon Adingra, Chemsdine Talbi, Noah Sadiki, plus another £ 20 million to bring Enzo Le Fee permanently.
They were also strongly connected to a movement for their former graduate Academy, Jordan Henderson, who has since completed a free transfer to Brentford.
Xhaka would add a considerable Premier League tree to a team that wants to consolidate under Regis Le Bris. The club is expected to follow more signing sessions before the start of the new season, while they will improve their ambitious summer transfer plans.
