Belal Muhammad wanted to fight against Kamaru Usman on UFC 319
From a title loss for Jack della Maddalena in the main event of UFC 315 in May, Muhammad said that UFC 319 attracted his interest in his hometown.
However, it takes two for Tango, and Muhammad says that he could not get a fight with former Welterweight Kamaru Usman champion.

“It would have been epic to fight in the United Center, but we couldn't find Kamaru,” said Muhammad.
“So hopefully we get something from him soon.”
Usman recently broke a three-fighting Skid with a dominant decision victory over Joaquin Buckley in June.
“It's the only one who really makes sense,” said Mohammed about a fight with Usman.
“We just had to let his manager stop protecting him,” Muhammad joked, while he and Usman have the same manager Ali Abdelaziz.
Kamaru Usman and Belal Muhammad have history
Muhammad and Usman do not see exactly eye to eye in the Welterweight Division.
The former champions were concerned with a physical exchange of words when the then camp Muhammad was on Usman's Pound 4 podcast.
Muhammad claims that Usman cried before they succeeded on the set, with Henry Cejudo trying to separate them.
The podcast episode or images of the incident were never released, so many fans wondered who would win in a real UFC fight.
