Ex-Man United assistant coach gives damning verdict on Red Devils star who has a ‘personality and character issue’

The former sidekick by Sir Alex Ferguson has called for a current Manchester United star for his 'personality and character'.

Rene Meulensteen, who won three Premier League titles and a Champions League on Fergies Bench, believes it was a mistake to let Anthony Elanga rely on the star.

Elanga ran 85 meters with the ball to score a sensational solo goal on Tuesday evening when Nottingham Forest Man United defeated 1-0.

Chris Wheeler from Mail Sport handed Alejandro Garnacho a 5.5 in his players' reviews of the city ground, and it is the Argentinian that comes under the microscope of Meulensteen.

“I have never been sold at Alejandro Garnaacho to be pretty honest,” he said Poker Firma.

'I think there is sometimes a personality and character problem.

'Anthony Elanga, on the other hand, his performance last night is exactly what you want to expect from a winger of Manchester United – strong, direct, powerful, full of confidence and players.

'I always thought that Elanga showed that glimpse when he played for man United, but the club closed the door on him and his career started again in another club.

“You really have to question the decision -making process to let players go, because there have been a few who have slipped.”

The versions of Garnacho were undertaken, with United on the 13th in the Premier League and on course for their worst finish ever.

He just found it four times and an assistant in the competition, although it is worth remembering that he is only 20.

The Argentinian arrived in Old Trafford in October 2020 as a 16-year-old, and there were high expectations that the winger could follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo to become a club legend.

They played together when Ronaldo returned to United in 2021, but the career of Garnacho has stuck in the past 12 months in the midst of disagreements with several managers.

Garnacho loved a social media post in which the former United -Baas Erik ten Hag was criticized because he had picked him up against Bournemouth last year before he subsequently apologizing.

Subsequently, he was unable to hide in his frustration because he was replaced by Ruben Amorim last month after Patrick Dorgu was sent to Ipswich in the first half of United's 3-2 victory.

Former right back Paul Parker, who played for the club between 1991 and 1996 and won 19 caps for England, concerns the attitude of Garnacho.

In a wild attack, he claimed that Garnacho consistently abandons people while he laughed that he could ever reach the level of Ronaldo.

“I liked him (Garnacho) when he came through and he had that Argentinian fire in his belly, which he completely lost,” Parker told Spilxperten. “He lowered himself and his family. He has abandoned his club because he does not use the talent he should have.

“I don't see anything from him. The most important thing for him is now understanding what he is good at and what he is bad at. He can't hire people, he's not fast enough and he doesn't want to work hard. So what is he actually good at?

“He has to find out and show that, instead of just wanting to be the next Ronaldo.

'Because at the moment he just seems like a Ronaldo fanboy, who would rather make a few highlights to place them on social media instead of winning football matches and making this club great again.

“We can't continue to use the excuse that Garnacho is young,” said Parker. “He is no longer young, at least not in football. He turns 21 in the summer and before he knows he will be 30. He must understand that and start performing.

'The best players, such as Ryan Giggs, were not considered young when he was 21.

'Garnacho may be immature, but he is no longer young, and it is a huge disappointment that he does not perform at all.

'He does not play as an adult and he certainly does not behave like an adult, and he must look closely in the mirror to tell himself that he should stop thinking about the next Ronaldo.

“He will never be, so he must accept the fact that he has to work hard to get a decent career.”
