The legend of Manchester City agreed to become a member of Napoli last week and will formally sign on July 1 when his city agreement ends.
Benitez, speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport, said: “It's too early to make predictions, but if you put De Bruyne in that strong team, it is very clear that you do everything you can do.
“Napoli, with two league titles in three seasons, belongs to an entrepreneurial culture that can be traced to ownership, therefore to (Aurelio) de Laurentiis: he brought innovation, he transformed and developed football, he made the club at the highest levels.”
ADL hired the right men
Benitez continued: “One could say too easily for a man from the cinema. But you must have the right people around you. I don't know (sports director giovanni) manna personally, they speak very much about him, and (Antonio) Conte certainly does not have to be flattered: in our sector there is little to do in the results, but what you not only achieved.”
About what De Bruyne adds to Napoli, he added: “A talent above the lines. Few as he showed in recent decades, as certain statistics about goals and assists show.
“It is reduction to talk about a midfielder, we are in the presence of a brilliant spirit that can ignore his 34 years. De Bruyne is lively intelligence, elegance, refinement, everything that a team like Napoli improves, that never missed talent.”
