Ex-PL star ‘robbed in broad daylight’ in Barcelona as ‘2 men stealing his watch’

According to a report, a former Premier League star was robbed in broad daylight in Barcelona.

The midfielder now plays for Girona in Laliga, on loan from Juventus after a failed temporary stay at Liverpool in the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp two seasons ago.

He only played once for the Reds – for 13 minutes – while he fought injury problems and selection with high expectations at the start of the penultimate year of his German boss in the club.

Marca reports that Arthur Melo enjoyed some free time in Barcelona – where he played for more than two years – to go shopping and paid for his parking ticket when the incident took place.

The event was said to have taken place at 4 p.m. on Passseig de Gracia, and it was reported that a person jumped from a motorcycle and stolen a luxury watch before he stuck at speed.

It was reported that two people were involved in the robbery, where Melo was unharmed and the incident reported to the police.

Marca says that Melo was in training on Friday as normal and will probably appear before Girona in their collision with Alaves on Saturday.

It is not the first time that the 28-year-old has reported to be stated, reporting that two burglars broke in his house and his brother threatened with a weapon in 2019.

The burglary happened during Barcelona's 3-0 Champions League semi-final first leg victory against Liverpool six years ago. The two people turned out to have taken valuable things, including jewelry and a Rolex watch.

Local reports said that the unnamed brother of Melo returned home around 11 p.m. after the game to find two masked men in the house, who put a weapon that is similar to a screwdriver in his throat and forced him to open a safe with valuables inside. There were no reports of injuries.

Melo has played six times since he was on loan from Juventus at Girona in January, because he wants to find a club to settle in the Italian side in 2020.

He also spent time in Loan in Fiorentina after leaving Liverpool and was choked 22 times by Brazil.
