Speaking with Tribal Football, Manchester United Treble-winner Wes Brown insists that manager Ruben Amorim should find another center output.
This season United spent almost £ 140 million this season to bring in Matheus Cunha (Wolves) and Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford).
But Brown admits that none of the players consider an out-and-out center-forward and insists that Rasmus Hojlund will not be enough to lead the line this season.
He said to Tribal Football: “Well, I think Mbeumo did it a bit there, but I really think their best positions are just behind. I do that honestly.
“I think Mbeumo probably did it more consistently and at a very high level in the past two seasons for his team.
“And Cunha, we have seen, we know that on his day he is a special player who can let things happen again. He did it a few times last season.
“So I'm really excited to see it. I think the manager has disappeared:” Yes, we have to do it. “
“It may not have been the first positions you had thought of, because I clearly still think that we can do with a main number nine to help Rasmus.
“But I think when these two players come up and you get the chance to sign them, you sign them and you fit them in and you let it work. And I am sure that is what the manager is trying to look at now.”
United needs one more
Brown, as he states, believes that Amorim still needs a center-forward to be sure of his attacking options for the new season.
He added: “I like it. I do it. I think we have enough in defense. I just hope that they will all stay fit and the manager can find out who is the best three to play in those positions.
“They will probably have a good idea. And then of course I would also like to see help from the front. You know, I don't think Rasmus is not a bad player at all. I think he put a lot of pressure last year.
“And as I said, Manchester United should have more than one main striker. And it's as simple as that.”
