Football fans claimed that Mikel Arteta 'poorly functioned' while conducting an extremely uncomfortable interview after the defeat of Arsenal by PSG on Wednesday evening.
The French champions took care of their place in Munich at the end of the month after beating Arsenal 2-1 on Wednesday evening – 3-1 on aggregated – in a convincing victory.
Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi received the goals for PSG in the night – for a late goal from Bukayo Saka – but it was Gianluigi Donnarumma that took the compliments.
The Italian keeper was in sensational form in the Parc des Princes while he kept Arsenal remotely with a series of remarkable rescues.
After the game, Arteta made it clear that he thought that Arsenal was the better side and, if it had not been for the Italian, would have gone to the final.
However, while he discussed the case, he was called for his claim before he suggested that members of the PSG camp agreed with him.
Arteta spoke with CBS Sports -Guestheer Anita Nneka Jones: 'First of all, congratulations to PSG. They are in the final.
'It's not about merits, it's about what the score leads. This competition is about the [penalty] Boxed and in both games the man of the game was the goalkeeper '.
Jones refuted: 'Well, today, it [the Player of the Match] Was Achraf Hakimi '.
Arteta continued: 'Well, I think it was clear who won the game for them today. I just spoke with them and they had the same picture on it.
'Very disappointed not to be in the final, but we have to accept that the performance is ultimately not enough. You must have the capacity to win the game in the box '.
Curious about what Arteta meant, Jones asked, “Who did you speak to?”
The Arsenal -Baas stated: 'A few people of them [PSG]. '
The interviewer asked: “And they shared that opinion?”
“All of them,” Arteta kept full.
The Spaniard then seemed to be Frosty when the recent of the interview was taken. After a long question from Jones, Arteta said: “That is all in the past now.”
By posting a clip of the interview, a fan wrote: “Arteta did not function if the interviewer does not buy his apologies.”
However, PSG Baas Luis Enrique did not agree with the claims of the Spaniard because he said: 'I don't agree at all.
“Arteta is a great friend, but I don't fully agree. They played well. They played the way they wanted.
'We scored more goals than they do. Arsenal played well, we suffered a lot. '
Arteta also claimed that Arsenal did not deserve to lose against PSG and that his players were left in tears when the Gunners crashed from the Champions League.
Arteta said: 'There has been no better team (than Arsenal) in the competition of what I have seen, but we are gone.
'If you analyze both games, who have been the best player, the MVP, it was the same player – the goalkeeper.
'And the Champions League is decided in the boxes and it won the game for them because of course it should have been very different today after 20 minutes and whatever happened in London. So I can take a lot of positives and I am very proud of the team.
'But at the same time I am so upset, so irritated that we have not been able to do it.
“Today I saw how much they want it because they were in tears.”
