Fans troll Richard Masters with van message as club chiefs attend EPL meeting

Premier League boss Richard Masters was taunted by fans prior to a meeting of the shareholders of the competition.

Masters, who has been CEO of the Premier League since 2019, was subject to a jibe from supporters on a Billboard bus parked outside the meeting in London.

Prem Chiefs are in the capital this season for their last meeting with clubs and other shareholders.

And Sunsport understands that one of the topics on the agenda for the meeting today is the data of the summer transfer.

But when the Bigwigs from the entire league all arrived, they were greeted by an electronic billboard bus with the text 'Richard's Masters'.

The game in the name of the CEO competition was accompanied by the badges of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham.

The same Billboard bus was also parked outside the Prem shareholders' meeting in November.

In that meeting, the 20 clubs of the League voted for the rules of the new Associated Party Transaction (APT), after a majority of 16-4 votes.

Since then, Man City has won an independent tribunal case against the Premier League with regard to the previous APT rules.

Masters wrote to all 20 clubs last month and admitted that the “earlier rules are void and not -unable to do so”, but insisted that “new rules were voted in operation” and that clubs must comply with them.

The Premier League remains in a legal battle with the current Champions Manchester City because of their 130 financial fair play costs.

Masters offered an update last month about the lawsuit on the Business of Football Summit.

He said, “The disciplinary panel must be given time to make their decision”.
