‘Fed up’… Jake Paul’s superstar rumored next opponent reportedly retires from boxing

Jake Paul may have to look for a new opponent after his most rumbled next rival reportedly decided to hang his gloves.

Paul recently beat former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez jr in a debilitating ten-round affair that earned him a ranking in the WBA Top 15. It was a controversial placement, which he felt by abandoning WBA champion Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez.

Although he is now eligible to combat Ramirez for a belt and have conversations for an Anthony Joshua fight, he was expected to return a totally different opponent in November or December. But in the midst of a series of problems outside the ring, it seems that those plans can change.

Gervonta Davis's pension could cost Jake Paul his next fight

On Tuesday evening, veteran Boxing reported Insider Rick Glaser on X that Gervonta Davis retires at the age of just 30 years old. The resident of Baltimore is due to Rematch Lamont Roach, who held him a draw earlier this year, but their planned August confirmation is probably free now.

“The best tank Davis van Baltimore retires from various very reliable sources,” Glaser wrote in. “Differences don't fight again is what he tells those who are close to him. Tank supposedly plenty of boxing. Tank is retired until his money runs low.”

There were widespread reports that Davis would be confronted against Jake Paul later this year in an exhibition fight. The fight is said to have placed Davis career light weight against a man who fought in a heavyweight last year in a bizarre open weight match, probably landed on Netflix.

Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis have been reported that they are fighting in exhibition fight

Many boxing insiders have claimed throughout the year that Davis was on his way to a bizarre exhibition with Paul towards the end of 2025. He insisted on a fight with Anthony Joshua, who is an active former heavyweight champion, but it says that this must take place next year.

Recently in March when Davis was held into a draw by Lamont Roach, Paul claims that the match was 'on the one-year line'. “That was also on one garden, but he has to rematch Lamont Roach,” Paul said at the time. “He wants to get that back. Then we will be back in discussion with Mr. Gervonta.”

Now he might have to look somewhere else for an opponent in November, especially if he refuses to face Joshua until next year. Paul also wants to fight against Badou Jack for the WBC Cruiserweight World Title next year.
