Fedor Emlianenko scored faceplant KO over UFC legend to record penultimate win of his iconic career

The big big signed his last fight in Japan with a one-shot knockout about a fellow icon.

The name of Fedor Emelianenko will forever be in the MMA history books as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and one of the most dominant forces that never got into the octhoek.

'The Last Emperor' was a natural force during his time in pride, where he became a hero for the Japanese fans, but his run did not end there.

It is now more than two years ago that the dreaded Russian last participated, but it seems that Emeliansko could retire to try his hand in a new arena in the near future if Conor McGregor is believed.

Although the version of Fedor that we saw in the last years of his MMA career was far from the heavyweight King of Pride, he still produced a number of great moments, even though he was far beyond his Prime.

Fedor Emeliansko Faceeplanted 'Rampage' Jackson at Bellator 237

Fedor Emelianenko spent the last years of his active career in Bellator, where he fought seven times before he retired in February 2023.

With the promotion that organizes their first event in Japan in December 2019, which is a better way to head the menu than to have the Russian made his last walk in the 'Land of the Rising Sun'.

Emeliansko would even get the chance to face a colleague -law legend that he never had the chance to compete with a matchup that is compiled with Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson.

After Bellator stars Michael 'Venom' page and Michael Chandler both earned impressive back-to-back finishes, the stage was set for 'The Last Emperor' to take 'Rampage'.

Jackson, who competed for the majority of his career on light heavyweight, had yielded a considerable weight on the way to this fight and it cost him with the much faster Emeliansko who could beat him.

An early flurry of the Russian served as a warning, but while 'Rampage' seemed to react by walking down his opponent, Fedor landed a huge fast ball judge that Jackson dropped to the canvas in what the last MMA fight of his would be a career.

Emeliansko would fight twice in Bellator and put Tim Johnson in the first round before challenging Ryan Bader in a rematch for the heavyweight title in which he was not successful.

Fedor Emelianenko was beyond his prime, but levels still ahead

The difference for Fedor Emelianenko in the fights he won in Bellator is that against opponents such as 'Rampage' Jackson and Tim Johnson was still incredibly powerful and faster than those guys.

Where he encountered a problem was then his opponents, such as Ryan Bader and Matt Mitrione, were also fast and sharp enough to land the power himself.

Having 'The Last Emperor' in BKFC would be a huge for the promotion, but it cannot be forgotten that he is now 48 years old.

Although he would probably fight veterans against other heavyweight, Emeliansko did this in Bellator before calling time on his incredible career.
