Rio Ferdinand has announced that he will stop his expert role in TNT sports.
Former Manchester United and England -defender Ferdinand, 46, has been one of the faces of the canal since he joined his predecessor BT Sport in 2015.
Ferdinand has performed both an expert and a co-commentator for domestic and European football, including last week's Europa League final between United and Spurs in Bilbao.
But the ex-Three Lions skipper will leave the TNT microphone after the final on Saturday between Inter Milan and PSG in Munich.
Ferdinand explained in a long -term post from social media: “After 10 incredible years. I made the difficult decision to get rid of TNT sports after the final of the Champions League.
“Since it retires from football, it has been a privilege about the game I have love to watch for sports fans for ten years who watch BT Sports and TNT sports.
“I want to recognize the enormous support of the team behind the scenes, whose hard work often becomes unseen, but has been essential for our success.
“For everyone at TNT Sports we have a brilliant end of the season to look forward to Saturday, and for the time being all the emphasis will be on what I think could go as one of the big European finals.
“The network continues to thrive with more rights than ever, and I am looking forward to following the progress and the exciting future that lies for us.
“Finally, I want to thank my family and my management company New Era for their continuous support.
“They supported me to travel everywhere in Europe and follow the best players and watch the best matches. For a football fan like me it is a dream come true.
“While I turn the page to the next chapter. I carry countless memories.
“I am enthusiastic about what the future has in store, spending more time with my family, aimed at Rio Ferdinand -Gifts and my other business interests.
“I hope to stay in contact with you in different capacities. Thanks again for everything.”
Sources at TNT suggested that Ferdinand could return to the channel in the future, whether it is on a guest or permanent basis and that it was completely his decision.
The decision not to renew his deal, Ferdinand enables to concentrate on his own online channels, which have become increasingly popular.
Ferdinand was not working recently after he suffered from a fear of health, forced to miss Arsenal's Champions League semi-final second leg collision against Paris Saint-Germain.
He was admitted to the hospital with a serious virus, which he later called a “crazy disease” who overlooked him.
Ferdinand is now better able to juggle his time between family life and work obligations.
He is married to Vrouw Kate, with whom he shares two biological children.
The couple also raises three children from the first marriage of Ferdinand with deceased partner Rebecca, who died tragically on cancer in 2015.
