Former man United star Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Rasmus Hojlund initially appears to be 'anxious' on the field in the midst of his constant drought for the goal.
Ferdinand emphasized his recent performances after the exit of Man United's FA Cup against Fulham on Sunday.
The Red Devils were beaten on penalties in Old Trafford after a 1-1 draw in a different setback of their season.
Man United boss Ruben Amorim chose to take Hojlund in the 68th minute of the game, with the 17-year-old Chido Obi for the Danish attacker.
Hojlund, who was signed for £ 72 million by Man United in the summer of 2023, has now gone 18 games without a goal.
Speaking on his Rio Ferdinand, youtube channel, Ferdinand, presents that the 22-year-old now looks anxious on the field.
“That result killed me, I was on the floor,” Ferdinand said.
'This united side cannot create opportunities, they cannot score goals, only five parties in the Premier League have scored fewer goals, it is a joke.
'For me, because Hojlund has been like that and so bad when you saw that boy [Obi] Come on, everyone was excited by the little things.
“It was refreshing to see a child so young. Hojlund is now anxious on the field.
'Chido is still rough on the edges, but what I have no doubt is that he will get opportunities.
“I saw him against my two boys and the way he played against Fulham was exactly the same. The ball falls and it is there. '
Hojlund has only hit the Premier League twice this season, but has had better fortunes in Europe, in which he has put five times in eight games.
Not eligible with OBI, Hojlund probably seems to be attacking Real Sociedad for Man United on Thursday evening in the Last-16 League against Real Sociedad.
Former man United -striker Andy Cole, who has 187 Premier League goals in his career, claimed that Hojlund should concentrate on his own game to regain his self -confidence instead of looking at the fight against defenders.
“If I tried to give him advice, it would be to do what of course you do,” said Cole.
'I watched him so often and for me he gets a bit obsessed with fighting against the middle half.
'Because the game is no longer played that way, you don't have to do that. When the ball comes in, just relax and play on two-touch, a maximum of three touch.
The intensity of fighting with the middle half, it takes up so much energy. '
