The Captain Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United opened on Wednesday evening about what he expects from Tottenham prior to the Europa League final.
United has their biggest competition of the season next Wednesday, while being confronted with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final in a competition that could be their saving Grace after a terrible campaign under manager Ruben Amorim.
The two games have already confronted three times this season – twice in the Premier League and once in the cup, with the North London side that won in all three games.
Spurs are 17th in the Premier League, a point and a place behind United and have not won a big trophy since 2008.
Classification score
This season, the teams have lost a combined 37 league matches in what their worst top campaigns has been since they were banned in the 1970s.
The final will be one of the best matches of the season, because both parties desperately fight for the trophy and to save face after what has been a long campaign.
Fernandes spoke to Bein Sports about Spurs and what he expects on the side that the final in Bilbao is going.
“A very aggressive team on the front foot. They print very well, they defend with a high line that they are very well organized about.
“They have players on the ball, in terms of quality, very good, but we will study, we already know many of their threats.
“But more than that, we have to concentrate on what we have to do in order not to give risks for them and to create many opportunities for ourselves to score goals and win that game.”
Although United knew what the Tottenham playing style is, they did not win this season in one of their collisions, which is a worrying board for the final.
Fernandes will supplement the side again next week if they try to qualify for the Champions League next season, which would be an important boost for the club financially.
