United played a scoreless draw in the Premier League with Rivalen Manchester City in Old Trafford in a match that should certainly be forgotten through history.
However, what will always be remembered is what the game preceded when the two teams entered the field.
Fernandes, 30, led the road for the hosts and was accompanied by the seven-year-old man Utd Super-Fan Bobby Moore from Belfast.
And Bobby wrote history as the first mascot of the Red Devils who uses a wheelchair.
The cute United enthusiast was discovered by the Portugal International after he saw him celebrating that he celebrated his penalty in the first Manchester Derby of the season in the Etihad.
The playmaker led the Manchester Giants to a stunning 2-1 comeback victory on City in December.
The Spot-Kick from Fernandes has canceled the opener of Josko Gvardiol for the dramatic Last Gasp winner of Amad Diallo three months ago.
But it was Bobby who stole the headlines with his passionate celebration of that big victory that Fernandes won.
So much so that the Exporting-Lisbon star invited him on Friday for the training field of Man Utd.
And then the United fan was asked to become the team's official mascot for the big competition with City.
Each City player of the man joined the Portuguese bait in honor of this cute supporter by shaking his hand during greetings before the game.
Moore saw his favorite team hold against the citizens, who pursue a top five finish who will almost certainly seal the Champions League qualification.
United, on the other hand, will almost certainly have to win the Europa League to return to Europe Elite Competition next season.
