FIFA change EPL giants’ roll of honour after Chelsea’s Club World Cup triumph

FIFA has officially announced Chelsea as the 'very first' World Cup champions after their triumph in New Jersey on Sunday evening.

The blues defeated Champions League winners and favorites for the Club World Cup, Paris Saint -Germain on Sunday evening after a Cole Palmer Masterclass -the forward score two and a different assistance.

It was a shock result, but a emphatic victory on the night, where Chelsea now took the completely new trophy home, as well as a hefty cash prize.

However, their success apparently had an impact after that match, with previous club World Cup winners now known as 'Fifa Intercontinental Champions'.

As such, although people like Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are no longer world champions.

The competition was played for the first time in 2000 as the Club World Championship, before he returned in 2005, and was played annually until 2023, before taking the current form.

In this summer's competition it was expanded for the first time to 32 teams, after he was previously fighting between only six (2020) and eight (2000).

Four English teams had won the World Cup club prior to the second Crown of Chelsea on Sunday, although they will apparently be included as FIFA Intercontinental Champions titles.

FIFA seemed to confirm the news itself on Sunday evening, because they shared a social media photo of Chelsea who cancel the trophy with the caption: “The first FIFA CWC champions ever.”

While City won the original competition in 2023, Liverpool abolished it in 2019 and United in 2008. Chelsea had also won it earlier in 2021.

Real Madrid won the most with five – most recently in 2022 – while Barcelona won four times, and Chelsea, Corinthians and Bayern Munich twice.

It was a club world cup final like no other, with President Donald Trump joined Chelsea for the trophy lift.

After having received a VIP treatment during the match next to First Lady Melania and Fifa President Gianni Infantino, Trump was central during the trophy presentation.

Trump, who was boosted by a part of the crowd, presented Robert Sanchez from the Golden Glove Award of the tournament.

Viewers of Dazn's reporting were then able to view an unlikely exchange, while Infantino Trump introduced to Palmer, while the Chelsea and England star walked up to collect his player from the tournament prize.

Lip reading expert Jeremy Freeman revealed that Trump had words of admiration for Palmer, after having viewed his stunning performance in the final.

'Chelsea's biggest fan. I'm a big fan of you. So well done, “said Trump, according to Freeman.

Palmer, who is known to offer few words in interviews after the game, reportedly replied 'Thank you' before joining his teammates.

The response of the 23-year-old to Trump's decision to stay on stage during the trophy presentation of Chelsea, however, has received the biggest response from fans.

The US president had been given the honor to present the trophy to Blues captain Reece James, with the expectation that he would go aside, as is usual.

Infantino tried to try to lead Trump away from Chelsea players, but the US president stayed in place and stood on either side of James and Sanchez.

The refusal of Trump to leave the stage, Chelsea players seemed stunned with Palmer to say: “What does he do?”

Palmer spoke after the game: “I knew he would be here, but I didn't know he would be in the stands when we lifted the trophy, so I was a bit confused, yes.”

Further light was thrown on the presence of Trump in the trophy presentation, in which his interactions with Chelsea captain James and goalkeeper Sanchez have been revealed.

While Palmer seemed confused in the background, Freeman revealed that James had asked Trump's permission to lift the trophy.

While Palmer said, “No, no, wait, wait … wait … wait,” James was seen who turns to the American president to ask for his approval.

Allegedly James said “I can lift?”, With Trump who answers “Oh can, good!”

According to Freeman, Sanchez was open to Trump who stayed on stage and was part of the parties.

“Please, Mr,” said the keeper to Freeman to Trump, before he asked him “wants us to lift the trophy next to you?”

Because Trump had signaled his approval, Sanchez was seen that James cancel the trophy and start the parties.
