FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that the United States and the United Kingdom are the only respective bidders for the world cups of 2031 and 2035 women.
The football clubs of England, Wales, Scotland and Noord -Ireland announced in March that they would submit a collective expression of interest to organize the 2035 tournament.
US Soccer and the Mexican football federation announced their intention last April to submit a joint offer for the 2031 tournament. The two federations withdrew their bid for the World Cup 2027 to concentrate on 2031 instead.
The athletics reported in March that the bid of the US-Mexico stenciling competitions in Costa Rica and Jamaica investigated. Sources that are familiar with discussions, talking about the condition of anonymity, indicated conversations at an early stage about the hosting of a limited amount of luminaires in the two Concacaf countries.
It was announced at the UEFA congress in Belgrade on Thursday that the VK was the only bidder for the 2031 tournament. If a compliant bid is submitted by the end of 2025, this will clear the way for the VK to organize the Women's World Cup for the first time.
“We are honored to be the only bidder for the FIFA World Cup World Cup 2035,” said the English FA CEO Mark Bullingham. “Organizing the first FIFA World Cup since 1966 with our partners of Home Nations will be very special. The hard work is now starting to put together the best possible offer at the end of the year.”
Infantio added: “Today I can also confirm that as part of the bid process we have received one bid for '31 and one bid – valid bid, I should add – for '35. The bid of '31 comes from the United States of America and possibly a few other Concacaf members. And the bid from '35 comes from the home countries.
“So the path is for the World Cup World Cup in '31 and '35 in some great countries, in some great countries, to stimulate the football movement for women even more.”
Member associations will formally submit their bids to FIFA in the last quarter of this year.
