FIFA has lifted the Lyon transfer ban until January 2027 after Les Gones has solved an outstanding debts of the transfer costs properly, L'Equipe can reveal. On Monday, Lyon was included in the FIFA's registration model, a list of clubs that are “temporarily forbidden to register new players because of various violations, such as financial disputes or legal infringements”. Lyon was hit with a provisional prohibition on the transfer to January 2027, but the prohibition was lifted because Les Gones cleared their debt.
The outlet understands that Lyon Eredivisie Side SC Heerenveen had to pay, an outstanding debts of € 2238.36 with regard to interests on the transfer costs of Amin Sarr. The Ligue 1-side signed the Swedish Center-Forward in January 2023. Sarr spent the last two seasons on loan, first in Wolfsburg and then in Hellas Verona. He remains tied up with OL during a contract that expires in 2027.
