Fiorentina-Inter Milan suspended after player collapses
The match was stopped 17 minutes after Fiorentina's Eduardo Bove suddenly fell. He was rushed to hospital.
Alarm and concern during Fiorentina's home match against Inter Milan, which was suspended after just over fifteen minutes with the score at 0-0.
After 17 minutes, as the teams protested to the referee over a disallowed goal by Lautaro Martínez, Fiore midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed to the ground and caused a major commotion both on and off the pitch.
Bo was taken to the nearby hospital in Fiorentina
It appeared that Bove was tying the laces of his shoes during a break in the game. When he got up, he trotted a few yards and then fell to the ground. Inter fullback Denzel Dumfries immediately sought medical attention.
Medical staff rushed to the Viola midfielder in scenes reminiscent of Christian Eriksen's collapse at Euro 2021. Sky Sport Italia reports that Bove was unconscious but could breathe on his own without assistance.
After several moments of unbearable tension, the 22-year-old player was admitted to Careggi Hospital, near the stadium, in an eerily quiet Stadio Comunale Artemio Franchi, and the match was cancelled.
