Five Real Madrid stars nursing fitness after derby clash and Ferland Mendy loss

On Wednesday evening, Real Madrid repeated their favorite trick, which aimed along the city of Rivals Atletico Madrid in the Champions League through the thickness of the bar. The victory, achieved after extra time and penalties,, however, took its toll on Los Blancos.

On Thursday, Carlo Ancelotti gave the players training, partly as a reward for their progress and permission to celebrate, and partly to illuminate the physical toll of his players. Even on Friday Vinicius Junior spent time in the gym instead of on the field. The Italian manager confirmed that he would be available for their 18:30 CEST date with Villarreal on Saturday, but they had decided to let the Brazilian rest after the efforts in the Metropolitano.

It was confirmed on Thursday that Ferland Mendy, who was picked up in the 82nd minute, had sustained a hamstring injury and would be off after tests for the following month. That questioned his presence against Arsenal in the quarterfinals. According to Diario, Vinicius has had a muscle tension against Atletico, albeit not one extraordinary after such a demanding game. When deciding against him at the training on Friday, it was also taken into account that Vinicius also has two demanding journeys that appear during the international break, while Brazil is confronted with Colombia and Argentina in South American qualifications.

They also say that Antonio Rudiger, Fede Valverde, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe also have a kind of discomfort. They are described as 'on the limit', and it has probably been a while when they played by pain.

Bellingham has been taking care of shoulder pain since last season, while Rudiger has an arthritic knee problem that will continue to harass him. Valverde recently missed two games with hamstring discomfort and Mbappe has to do with pain in his toe and ankle.
