Nicolas Jackson was broadcast four minutes after a replacement when Chelsea suffered a collapse from the second half against Flamengo at the FIFA Club World Cup.
The blues led by Pedro Neto but gave up twice and lost Jackson to a red card in a disastrous spell of six minutes after the break.
Neto's cool finish under the legs of the keeper delivered a positive start for the Premier League side, but comparable far-away post-tap-ins from replacement Bruno Henrique and Danilo the Brazilian team allowed the management.
Referee Ivan Barton then quickly issued a red card after Jackson's studs had made contact with Lucas Ayrton's Shin in an ugly challenge with Wallace Yan who completed the score to deliver a harmful 3-1 defeat to Chelsea.
It leaves the blues that need a victory at the African club Es Tunis on Tuesday to qualify for the last 16, but also increases the chances that they will have the winner of group C, which Bundesliga Giants Bayern Munich could be.
In the meantime, Flamengo probably seems to finish the top of group D and has ensured that South American clubs remain unbeaten in the new extensive Club World Cup.
