Flick holds hour-long discussion after poor form wipes out La Liga lead

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has called on his players to respond several times since losing to Real Sociedad, yet twice dropping points against Las Palmas and Celta Vigo. The German coach had a lengthy chat with his charges ahead of their training on Monday as they prepared for their trip to RCD Mallorca.

The Blaugrana have struggled to maintain their high streak in recent weeks, and Marca say that after Barcelona announced their press conference would start an hour later than normal, the reason became clear. Flick wanted to analyze the mistakes made in the recent matches ahead of the session and discuss how he could address them in detail with his players in a direct and open manner.

After the team meeting, Flick also had long conversations with various individuals on the training field, the longest with Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker was recently indirectly named by Flick as part of the rest of the forward line due to their sloppy defensive work.
