Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was satisfied after his side FC Seoul had brought to Het Zwaard in the second of their friendly matches and beat the South Korean opposition 7-3. The Blaugrana has one last fixed value against Daegu FC on Sunday before he returns to Catalonia.
The Catalan giants were comfortable from the start, racing in a 2-0 lead, but were briefly fed back to 2-2. Flick used 24 players during the game, replaced the entire team during the break and made two more changes for the last 15 minutes.
One of those who was completed late in the second half was Gavi, who led the side in the second half and scored an excellent goal.
“He can play in both positions, 6 or 8. We saw him at the end of last season and he was at a very good level. What I saw from Gavi is exactly what I want to see, pushing the team forward, as a captain,” he explained to MD after the game.
Only three outfield players did not face FC Seoul, one of which was the young midfielder Dro Fernandez. The other two were Eric Garcia and Inigo Martinez, of which Flick confirmed it was a precaution.
“It was more important to take care of Eric and Inigo, who had some discomfort. In the end I am very happy.”
At the game itself, Flick Ups and Downs described during the game as his side.
“In the first half we had a good start and then we were a bit slow, but we came back to a large level, and in the second half, with Gavi, Ferran and Marcus, Gerard Martin, in a position that is not usual.”
Barcelona has now reached the Halway point of their preseason and still has a competition after Daegu FC, with Como in the city for the Joan Gamper -Trophy in the Estadi Johan Cruyff. Flick will have 13 days to prepare his side for La Liga action as soon as they are back at home from their Asian tour.
