Flick praises ‘incredible’ Barcelona after winning 28th LaLiga title

Head coach Hansi Flick van Barcelona paid his players after they have obtained a 28th LABERA title for the club on Thursday with a 2-0 win over Espanyol.

That victory expanded their domestic undefeated run to 25 games, with their last defeat at the end of December. In that period, Barcelona also won the Spanish Super Cup in January and previously defeated Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final in May.

“I think we have been great in the second part of the season. We have not lost a game and that is just great. Congratulations to the team, the club and the fans. We are very happy with what we have achieved,” Flick said a press conference.

“I don't think I had enough time to explain it all season, but I attach great importance to the culture we have created, this family that we have created.

“A lot of work is being done, with a lot of passion and a great mentality … It is really nice to see this family that we have created. How we take care of each other. It's unique, I'm happy.”

Central to the success of Barcelona this season is the form of teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, which this season has registered 21 target contributions in LaLiga (eight goals, 13 assists), including a goal and assistant against Espanyol.

Flick, however, was quickly on that Barcelona more than just Yamal and that this was an achievement of the entire team.

“It is Barcelona's Laliga. It is not about one player, of course Lamine has been important, but we are a team and that is the most important thing. The team as a whole,” he said.

“Everyone has done their job very well. We are a team. This is what we wanted. We have given the best version for this club. All fans can be proud.

“Lamine has already scored more goals like this. He trains the same movement every day, but today was just a perfect goal.”
