Florentino Perez halted Real Madrid transfer moves in January due to finances

It is no secret in the Spanish capital that if it were up to the Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, they would have raised reinforcements in the transfer window of January. It is no surprise that a coach insists on more resources, but few parties have confronted with the injury crises that are present in Valdebebas. Nevertheless, the club opted for bringing in players in the winter window, just as their policy has been in many recent years.

The decision was also not a phone call from the sports committee at Real Madrid. General director Jose Angel Sanchez, head of Explorer June Calafat and sports director Santiago Solari are often involved in the decision -making process at the Santiago Bernabeu, with input from the manager. However, the last word comes from President Florentino Perez. Cadena Ser says it was Perez who stood in the way of January movements, apart from an attempt to sign Alexander-Arnold in advance, with the right back of Liverpool expecting to arrive at a free in the summer.

Perez was against doing January cases because of the financial state of the club. After an era in the 2000s, Perez became much more careful with the finances of Real Madrid, and the message was that Real Madrid had money to invest, but not to waste. He believes that they have enough talent in the team to prevent them from paying above the market rates to get someone on an emergency base, hence the use of Aurelien Tchouameni and Fede Valverde in the back line. He thinks their recent success also gives them credit to the fans not to have to make reactionary movements.

It is clear that Perez is good within his right to believe that and has the power to make these calls without much recoil. Ancelotti would, without saying that, probably be of the Spirit that it is not the position of Perez that will be in danger if something goes wrong this season.
