Florian Wirtz was in action for Germany against Portugal on Wednesday evening, and although Liverpool fans certainly liked what they saw, the captain of Manchester United did not do that
Liverpool fans all over the world coordinated with the German Nations League semi-final against Portugal on Wednesday evening, and all for a glimpse of one man.
Florian Wirtz started in Germany attack when the Bayer Leverkusen star approaches an record movement to Anfield, but a man who may not like to see in the Premier League is Bruno Fernandes.
The captain of Manchester United -who repeated his wish this week to stay in Old Trafford despite interest from Saudi -Arabia -was left furiously after he was at the end of a studs -up challenge of Wirtz in the final moments of the first half.
Before that Wirtz had only shown his quality in flashes during a aimless first period, but there was still enough for Reds -fans to become enthusiastic about what they could see soon.
Early in the game, Wirtz picked up the ball on the left, defeated Francisco Trincao excellently and put a delivery in the box for Joshua Kimmich who came from the right.
On X the fans of Liverpool at @anfieldwatch were impressed in an appropriate way and wrote: “Mohamed Salah is happy to play with Florian Wirtz”, where another user just “Wirtz you are going to change your life.”
More and more praise for Wirtz would soon arrive with a fan who adds: “Florian Wirtz is a £ 100 million player. World class.” Another simply added: “This Wirtz Performance” when the 22-year-old declined and started dictating the game of Deep.
And Wirtz would show that he also has steel to match his style in the final phase of the first period with his challenge on Fernandes, who was left in a lot before he went to the touchline to appeal with the fourth officer that Wirtz should have been sent by VAR.
Reds fan @anfieldrd96 wrote: “Wirtz on Fernandes. Bring him in tonight.” Another added: “Wirtz leaves Bruno Fernandes on the floor crying. Give him a 10 -year contract of Richard (Hughes) Lad.”
Even better than early in the second half for Wirtz and that Liverpool fans follow when he found Kimmich and then raced in the box to nod the excellent chipped cross of the Bayern Munich home for a goal that survived a VAR control.
A fan wrote: “Wirtz changes water into wine with this Germany team, can't wait to see him in a Liverpool shirt.” Another added: “Liverpool has already received a future king.”
However, Germany could not stick to the leadership given to them by the goal of Wirtz, and Portugal turned the tables to score twice through the second half via Chico Concukicao and Cristiano Ronaldo, with the strike of the 40-year-old who sent his side to Sunday's final.
