Liverpool weighs a movement for Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi, who was previously praised as a key figure in the dressing room by England teammate Phil Foden
Liverpool will intensify their pursuit of Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi, who has been praised as leader by his three Lions colleagues Phil Foden. The Reds will soon be looking for a new center-back because of the likely departure of Jarell Quansah.
Liverpool's defense was strengthened in April when skipper Virgil van Dijk was committed to a new two -year contract in Anfield. However, it seems that their central defensive options will be reduced by the approaching output of lifelong red quansah.
The 22-year-old is about to complete a £ 35 million switch to Bundesliga-Outfit Bayer Leverkusen. Apart from the captain of the club, only Ibrahima Konate and the adaptable Joe Gomez would remain as senior choices in the center of half that Quansah should leave.
The focus can then move to the transfer market and Guehi has turned up as a potential target. The 24-year-old was previously praised by the international teammate and Manchester City-star Foden as a crucial presence in the three lions dressing room.
The Telegraph report that with Quansah is all ready for an exit to Germany, Guehi, which is another year in his current deal in Selhurst Park, originated as a target for the Reds. Although an expected fee is unknown, the Eagles rejected an £ 70 million offer from Tottenham in January.
FODEN has praised Liverpool -target Guehi, after his impressive versions during Euro 2024, which indicates that the Reds would get an important dressing room figure. “He has been a leader,” Foden flowed on the official YouTube channel of England.
“I know him well to play clearly with him and he was not shocked by anything. I feel that he has entered the team and has shown his qualities.”
Foden has not been the only one Guehi cowardly. Former Liverpool -striker Michael Owen could not help it, but greeted the bravery of the defender after witnessing his Euro 2024 Heroics.
“He has proven in this tournament that he is very good. Left -sided center halves are nowadays as gold dust, they want people,” Owen said to Prime Casino. “He has proven that he can play at a very high level, so I have no doubt that he would be able to play for a club like Liverpool.”
Since he arrived at Crystal Palace from Chelsea in 2021, Guehi has become an integral part of their team and in May he plays a key role in their historic FA Cup victory in the city of Foden.
In the midst of speculation around his future pre-wley-final Guehi maintained a modest attitude when he was investigated about potential transfers, but did not completely rehabilitate.
“I think the most important thing is that I always do the best I can do for this football club,” he said. “I come in every day and I try to be the same. I try to work hard. And you know, this football club has given me a lot.
“I am still under contract with this football club, so my focus is always in this football club. So you know, for me the most important thing is just to do the best and see where the future is in store.”
