Fofana set for return tonight, despite coach’s claim of season-ending injury

Chelsea fans have received a boost with the news that one of their stars is planning to make a surprise early to their matchday team on Tuesday evening.

The blues are in the middle of a miserable form that they have seen win only two of their last nine Premier League matches.

They will be sure to return to winning ways after back-to-back top flight defeats when they organize the bottom of the top Southampton on Tuesday evening.

And they will be even more after reports that Wesley Fofana will be involved with the team.

The defender of £ 75 million has not been seen since he contracted a hamstring injury against Aston Villa on December 1.

It was originally thought that he would be out for about a month, but manager Enzo Maresca revealed in January that he could be out for the season.

However, RMC Sport claims that that is certainly not the case and 'he will be back in the group' against Southampton.

There was the hope for an early return for the Frenchman after being seen on the grass on the grass at Chelsea's Training Ground in recent weeks.

But even the most optimistic of blues supporters did not provide a comeback on the horizon in February.

Fofana's time in Chelsea Since the signing from Leicester is limited by injuries.

He only made 15 Premier League performances in 2022-23 and missed the entire season of 2023-24.
