Fonseca pleased with AC Milan attitude for Coppa rout
Milan won 6-1 on Tuesday, with Samu Chukwueze (2), Tijjani Reijnders, Rafael Leao, Davide Calabria and Tammy Abraham scoring.
“It was a very good performance, the first half was beautiful and it also helped me to rest some of the players,” Fonseca told Mediaset.
“I only have positive things to say, as we have taken it very seriously, I am very pleased with the attitude of the players.
“I have always said that I have confidence in all my players, that is why they can all play. I am satisfied today as some who have not played much this season have put in a great performance. They have shown me that they are ready and that is what I want to hear.
“I told the players that the most important thing in these matches is to avoid relaxation. It was crucial that we started strong with intensity, got the ball back quickly, pressed high, and they all did that.
“In the past it was a problem caused by the attitude towards the smaller teams, but today we have shown real progress in that area. I can only be satisfied.
“I am responsible for everything that happens on this side and if we had the wrong attitude before, I will not try to run away from my responsibility for that.”
